We all have to start somewhere, right? If you’re like me, starting is the hardest part. I first dreamed of writing a cooking blog over 10 years ago. I did manage to write 1 blog a year, maybe two. For 10 whole years. I never published it. Seriously, that was all I could manage during that time and you know what? It’s ok! I had kids, a career and a needy husband. I give myself a pass. We seem to hold ourselves to impossible standards and I see it getting worse as the years go by. There is so much emphasis on being perfect. The perfect house in the perfect neighborhood with the perfect schools. Mom has the perfect mid sized suv (when I was in my 30’s it was a minivan, gasp!) to haul the kids around in. Now instead of nice, easy makeup there’s contouring, shading and plumping, suctioning out and filling in, all so we can try to live up to the images we see on social media. BUT WHY??!!
My hope is to begin to create a community where we can all be imperfect. A safe space where you can take your bra off and exhale, even if it’s just for a moment. A space where you can feel worthy. YOU ARE ENOUGH, just the way you are.
